SNORING/OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNOEA SYNDROME (OSAS)

Patients suspected of having OSAS need to undergo an Endoscopic examination of the nose and throat as well as a Sleep Study (Polysomnography) to determine the severity of the condition.

The Sleep Study measures various body parameters such as oxygen levels, breathing patterns, brain activity, heart function and snoring levels in order to determine the severity of the problem. Based on the test result, there are several treatment options available including:

  • CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machines

  • Sleep position modification

  • Oral and dental appliances
